Peter Bergen is vice president for global studies & fellows at New America, professor of practice at Arizona State University where he directs the Center on Intelligence & National Security and is a CNN national security analyst. He has written or edited eleven books about national security issues, three were New York Times best sellers and four were named among the best non-fiction books of the year by the Washington Post. The books have been translated into 25 languages. He has testified before US Congressional committees 18 times about national security issues. He has held teaching positions at Harvard’s Kennedy School and Johns Hopkins University SAIS. Bergen has produced multiple documentaries for CNN, HBO, Discovery, National Geographic, and Showtime, which have been nominated for four Emmys and won the Emmy for best documentary. He has a degree in Modern History from New College, Oxford and is a PhD candidate in the History Department at the University of Portsmouth (UK).  His latest book, All the Presidents’ Wars: Twenty-Five Years of America’s War on Terror, was published on September 8, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
