Gerry Petrella serves as the General Manager for U.S. Public Policy at Microsoft, where he leads a team of policy and government relations experts focused on strategically managing Microsoft’s U.S. policy priorities. His work spans AI, economic policy, technology regulation, and stakeholder engagement.
Before joining Microsoft, Petrella was Policy Director for Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, where he played a central role in legislative planning, negotiation, and execution for landmark legislation like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Chips and Science Act. He is widely respected for his ability to broker bipartisan compromises and has advised members of Congress, the White House, and private sector leaders on issues ranging from technology and environment to infrastructure and health care. He also serves on the board of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), ITS America, and is an advisor to the Policy Entrepreneurs Network (PEN).
