His Excellency Ambassador Mike Waltz

U.S. Representative to the United Nations

Ambassador Mike Waltz serves as the 32nd U.S. Representative to the United Nations. A former Congressman representing Northeast Florida, Ambassador Waltz previously served as National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump. He is a combat-decorated U.S. Army Green Beret, retired Army Colonel, small business owner, and author.

The first Green Beret elected to Congress, Ambassador Waltz served on the House Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Intelligence Committees. Over a 27-year military career, he served worldwide as a U.S. Army Special Forces officer with multiple combat tours in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa, earning four Bronze Stars, including two for Valor. He also served in the Pentagon as a defense policy director for two Secretaries of Defense and in the White House as a senior policy advisor.

At the United Nations, Ambassador Waltz is leading President Trump’s effort to return the UN to its core mission of diplomacy, burden sharing, peace, security, and lifesaving assistance. He has prioritized reforms to reduce wasteful spending and streamline peacekeeping missions while advocating for international religious freedom and addressing anti-American and antisemitic bias within the UN system.
